This 24-piece collection reimagines the intricate textures of butterfly wings and organic structures, bringing them to life through jacquard and woven fabrics. Inspired by the unseen beauty of the natural world, the designs merge precision photography with innovative textile techniques. The techniques
The COS × Chris Perani collaboration is built on advanced macro photography techniques that reveal nature’s hidden details. Using a microscope objective lens, each image is captured with an extremely shallow depth of field, requiring precision focus stacking to merge hundreds of individual exposures into a single, high-resolution composition. A rail system is used for micro-adjustments, ensuring every intricate texture is sharply defined. The process involves thousands exposures per image, meticulously layered to highlight the complex structures in nature. These techniques transform microscopic wonders into striking, wearable designs.

The COS x Chris Perani collection was a true creative partnership built on a shared vision: to reveal the hidden beauty of nature through fashion. Merging COS’s minimalist design ethos with the intricate detail of my billion-pixel macro photography, we created garments that turned microscopic structures into wearable art.Working closely with COS’s designers and marketing teams, we developed a visual language that honored both form and fabric. Our process was highly collaborative—refining each piece through shared feedback, from image selection to textile application.Together, we translated the unseen into the unforgettable, crafting a collection that invites people to experience nature not just as inspiration, but as design itself.

The COS × Chris Perani collection launched globally in Fall 2024 across more than 150 COS stores worldwide, marking a significant milestone for both art and fashion collaboration. The 24-piece capsule collection received widespread acclaim, blending the scientific precision of extreme macro photography with the clean, contemporary lines of COS design.

The project was featured in leading fashion publications across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, including WWD, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, ELLE, W Magazine, and Marie Claire. Coverage spanned over 20 countries, with millions of online readers engaging with the story from Seoul to Stockholm to San Francisco.

Beyond the press, the collection resonated with a global audience, offering a fresh perspective on wearable art and reinforcing the idea that nature, when seen through a different lens, can be both captivating and contemporary.
